USC Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Research Fellowship
Objective
The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at USC offers a research fellowship for those interested in plastic surgery. This fellowship is led by the Director of Research in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of USC, Dr. Jeffrey Hammoudeh. The team is based at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), a USC core educational program site. Research topics at our institution include craniofacial surgery, reconstructive microsurgery, burn and critical care, hand surgery, and general pediatric plastic surgery. Research fellows will be expected to lead and oversee multiple projects, collaborating with other researchers, residents, fellows, and attending physicians. Additional duties will include attending weekly pre-operative conferences, database query and management, IRB submission, participation in prospective clinical trials on early cleft lip repair, and presentation at local, national, and global academic conferences. The fellowship term begins July 1st and extends 10-12 months. Funding options are available for accepted applicants.
Prerequisites
Must be a US medical student (MD or DO) with a dedicated research period.
General surgery residents interested in plastic surgery may also apply.
